While they are known for their exquisite jewellery, P.C. Chandra Jewellers are here to celebrate the beauty of books! At the special International Kolkata Book Fair, they have brought a handpicked selection of captivating reads—from timeless classics to modern must-haves. Whether you’re a passionate book lover or looking for your next great read, their collection is designed to inspire, enchant, and transport you to new worlds.

Their stall gives out a cosy as well as a nostalgic vibe to the people of this city. Their newly launched book of this year ‘Bangla O Bangali’ by Santanu Basu has set the theme of their stall. Popular as the finest gold jewellery company throughout the country, they have a great contribution in the literature area as well. The person after whom the company name is after Shri Purnachandra Chandra started the book writing legacy with this book ‘Ratna Bigyan’ which is also available at their stall. It talks in length about the astrological stones and why people should wear them wisely. Since then they have kept publishing books. They generally collaborate with different publication and sell bengali classics like ‘Uttam Muhurto’, and many more as much.

Their previous hit Swarnakhor was launched at the same book fair back in 2018. This book portrayed jewellery which captures the beauty and knowledge of some of the most popularly spoken Indian and Global languages, where each alphabet has its own ornamental glory.

When asked if people are confused why a jewellery brand has come to the book fair, the branch manager said, “Yes, it is pretty obvious that people are getting confused by our stall. They think we are selling jewellery but we are absolutely not doing that. Instead, we are spreading awareness about bengali literature and heritage by the books we bring each year which are close to their heart”.

They have books written about the designs and sculptures created by their artists and the entire process behind it. They focused on the designs that were inspired by the Calcutta life i.e Yellow Taxis, the Howrah Bridge, Trams, etc. Their books have that beautiful, charming effect just like their jewellery pieces do.

Anybody with a knack for gold and books, should definitely visit!
