Eco-friendly Book Fair

The book fair is not only concerned about books but also about sustainability and eco-system. National Jute Board takes the initiative to promote eco friendly jute products and ensures to have a more brighter greener environment tomorrow. It is the Green Partner of the International Kolkata Book Fair 2025 .

The national jute board has one of the world’s most eco-friendly materials and has been in forefront for promoting sustainable use of jute . It has been contributing and being green partner of the International Kolkata Book Fair from last few years.

The book fair is not only about books but it also promotes awareness about the importance of environment by not using any sort of plastic bags rather using cloth and jute bags. The stalls of the National Jute Board are selling jute tote bags ,purses and pouches . There are more than ten stalls present in the book fair .

We had a conversation with the person in the stall selling the products where he acknowledged The International Kolkata Book Fair and The Publishers and Booksellers Guild . In addition he said that being the green partner of the fair they are trying to make the public aware of the environment. In a conversation with the customers, we learned that they are against the idea of using plastic bags as they harm our environment. Rather they prefer using jute bags.

We also found stalls designated to nature selling books regarding environment. They are carrying forward sustainability by using cloth bags and not plastic.

In conclusion, the book fair is not only about books but also about protecting the environment and spreading green message.
